Hailing from Plain City Ohio, Luke Gingerich is a horseman, clinician, and performer whose mission is to inspire and educate horsemen and women to better connect with and understand their horses, while both developing a great relationship and achieving high level results together.
Luke specializes in performance liberty horsemanship, and has also competed in reining, ranch versatility, and western dressage. In 2022,Luke was the Quarter Horse Congress Open Freestyle Reining Reserve Champion, and was also the 2022 International Liberty Horse Association Invitational Freestyle Champion.

A good portion of Trevor’s life has been riding range for different ranches across Western Canada and the US, where true cowboying still exists.

More recently, he’s been competing in Extreme Cowboy Challenges, where he applies his style of horsemanship and consistently places in the Green Horse and Pro Divisions.
In November 2018 and 2019 he placed in the top 20 at the EXCA World Finals.
Trevor's Extreme Cowboy reputation has been growing and has led him to provide a number of clinics in Canada and the USA. Trevor is currently the leading Extreme Cowboy clinician in Canada, putting on around 25 plus specific Extreme Cowboy clinics a year.

Trevor also hosts and organizes Extreme Cowboy races at a number of different fairs and events across Western Canada. He has also had the opportunity to compete in ‘Colt Starting Challenge USA’ in February 2020 in Denver, Colorado where he placed very well overall. Most recently, he placed 6th in the world at the Extreme Cowboy World Finals 2022, in the pro division on his stallion Drifter, landing him the title of
the top ranked Canadian in the division.
Originally from British Columbia, where his ranching roots started, he now runs his company called “Horses That Work” out of Cochrane, Alberta. Trevor brings his down-to-earth approach to horsemanship in any discipline of riding through a variety of training programs and clinics.

MICHAEL WAKEFIELD
Certified Level lll and CAA Master Driver.Michael has competed in fine harness, pleasure, Combined Driving Events, log skids and was the driver and manager for the Wells Fargo Stagecoach Appearance Program and participated in parades and rodeos all over Northwest US.
Ray Butterfield is mostly known for his experience with young hunters and jumpers,
from the ground to their first debut as a show horse.

providing a space for horses and riders to develop confidently and safely.
Ray’s foundation was set in the dressage ring which then lead to him focusing on equitation. The CET and CEF medals was where Ray first was noticed on the local scene in Canada earning him several opportunities to compete at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. Ray then moved to the jumper ring as a junior and was fortunate to have competed successfully at Spruce Meadows in the 1.30-1.40 divisions for several years.
Ray has represented Bermuda as an individual at the North America Young Riders Competition and has multiple national Grand Prix starts.

PETER HAS BEEN A RESIDENT OF ONTARIO, CANADA AND OCALA FLORIDA, SINCE
COMPLETING STUDIES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF GUELPH, MAJORING IN ANIMAL
SCIENCE.
HIS TRAINING IS DIVERSE AND PETER HAS A SPECIAL INTEREST IN PRODUCING
YOUNG HORSES IN A VARIETY OF DISCIPLINES DEPENDING ON WHERE THEIR
TALENTS LIE. THIS HAS MADE HIM A POPULAR CLINICIAN THROUGHOUT NORTH
AMERICA PREPARING STUDENTS FOR DRESSAGE, EQUITATION, JUMPERS AND
EVENTING.
AS A COMPETITOR, PETER HAS COMPETED AT MOST 4* AND 5* INTERNATIONAL
EVENTS IN NORTH AMERICA AND EUROPE; HE HAS COMPETED IN THREE OLYMPIC
GAMES, WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS AND IS A PAN AM EVENTING INDIVIDUAL
BRONZE MEDALIST. IN ADDITION TO HIS EVENTING, PETER IS CURRENTLY

Jason Irwin
Horsemanship
Jason Irwin is a self-taught trainer who started his first colt when he was twelve. Over the years he has put the foundation training on hundreds of young horses. Jason has been the trainer at the family business Northstar Livestock Quarter Horses, which is based out of Port Elgin, Ontario, for the last 20 years. Jason starts Colts works with problem horses, adds finishing training to older horses, competes in Colt starting competition and trains Liberty horses. Jason has started Colts and given training demonstrations at some of the largest horse expos in the world, both in Canada and the United States.
Horses started in trained by Jason have gone to excel in everything from barrel racing to ranch work to fox hunting to performing in drill teams and just about everything in between. His aim is to put a solid foundation on a horse so that it can go on to excel in any discipline.
Jason, along with his wife Bronwyn teach twenty plus clinics a year. Jason presents information in a practical and easy to understand format. Participants in Jason's clinics ranged from beginners to experienced trainers.
Jason also writes training articles for Horse Canada magazine.
Ross Smith
Ranch Roping
Ross was born on a large cattle ranch and has been working cattle and roping his entire life. He has worked for the Federal and Provincial government on Large community Pastures and taught Ranch Roping at Federal and Provincial pasture Safety Clinics. He's been teaching ranch roping clinics for 20 years and currently resides in Saskatchewan.
Ross is the 2x Canadian Ranch Roping Champion, 3x Reserve Canadian Ranch Roping Champion sportsmanship award, First Over All Top Hand Award, 15 years as a director, CRRA Senior Judge CRRA Past President.

Harry works extensively with Samantha McFadyen in promoting the sport of ranch roping and is a favorite on the Ontario roping clinic scene.

Kaylee Van Winkle
Pony Club
Kaylee Van Winkle is currently an H member of the United
States Pony Club and has her HA, B eventing, and B dressage
specialty certifications. She has been involved in a variety of
leadership positions within USPC, from the local youth board,
regional examiner, and a member of the National Youth Board.
In 2019, Kaylee was honored to be selected as a member of the
United States Pony Club’s Inter-Pacific Exchange Team. The
team competed in Hong Kong in show jumping and dressage
with teams from Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Hong
Kong. Kaylee helped her team win the Nation’s Cup show
jumping competition, the first time in 13 years the US had won
the competition!
She is the owner of Van Winkle Eventing & Dressage based out of Plain City, OH and works
closely with Pony Clubs throughout the Midwest. She is a regional examiner, offers preps for
members from their D3 - HB, and coaches members as private students. She competes in
eventing and classical dressage with her thoroughbred, High Shine, who she has developed
from Beginner Novice to Training, and plans to continue his
development up the levels, as well as currently restarting a
young off the track thoroughbred to find his second career.
Kaylee is passionate about the horsemanship and
sportsmanship of eventing and strives to help her students
create partnerships with their horses in a way that
prioritizes their mental, as well as physical, fitness and builds a strong foundation of trust.
Andrea Volasko

With a lifelong ambition in breeding horses, Andrea pursued her passion by studying Breeding and Reproduction Management at Olds College in Alberta. She further honed her skills by competing with the Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders Association (CWHBA) in Denmark as part of the young breeders team and representing the Ontario Chapter in various capacities. For over 15 years, Andrea has showcased her horses in Cup classes, earning wins at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair (RAWF) in the LT Cup, as well as numerous top 5 placings in both the GG and LT Cup. In her two-decade career, Andrea has dedicated herself to raising, breeding, training, and starting horses, fulfilling her
lifelong dream in the equine industry.

Laura is a certified and independent saddle fitter with 15 years of experience.
She trained under master saddler Jochen Schleese and has extensive training in fitting a variety of saddle brands. Laura has a diploma from the University of Guelph in Agriculture and trained in equine anatomy and biomechanics with vets in central Ontario. Laura is passionate about teaching saddle fitting basics to all riders and believes knowledge is power. She specializes in horses with trauma, such as kissing spine, and works with the horse's medical team to provide extensive rehab & fitness plans and consistent check-ins during the healing process. Laura also provides personal shopping - helping clients find the perfect saddle effortlessly.

Heather is a Certified Equine First Aid Certified Instructor through Equi-Health Canada. She has been an avid equestrian and horsewoman for the last 15 years, experiencing ownership, training and competition at varying levels. Since completing her Instructor designation with Equi-Health Canada, she has taught many courses to individuals looking to prepare themselves with the knowledge and tools to do best by their animal in an emergency situation. As the owner of her business, Stand Sure Equine First Aid, it is her goal is to provide agency and information in a memorable and digestible way - so you can Stand Sure in your decisions, knowledge, and capabilities when it comes to your horses’ welfare. Apply for the opportunity to ride at the Can Am Equine Expo
- All applications are reviewed for a good match to the requirements the clinicians has outlined. Successful participants will be contacted by email or telephone.
- Cost per clinic is $100 for one day or $250 for three days.
- Clinic fees include one complimentary day pass to the Expo (for the day of your clinic) or a weekend wristband if you are riding all three days of the expo.
- Indoor stalls for three days are $125 (Thursday noon – Sunday 7:00 pm).
- Stalls must be booked & paid for in advance.
- Clinic participants will be required to be on-site at least 1 hour prior to the start of their clinic, Clean attire, tack and turn-out is required.
- Cancellation of attendance is required at least 48 hours prior to your clinic.
- Refunds will be issued only with a doctor’s or veterinarian certificate.
